ZRYA LLP (“Zrya”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the Zrya mobile application and web platform (collectively, the “Platform”). The Platform enables users to connect with mental health practitioners and access services including online counselling sessions, journaling, mood tracking and related self-help features.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect information relating to users of the Platform. Where Zrya relies on your consent for the processing of Personal Data, you will be provided with a clear notice describing the Personal Data being collected and the purpose for which it is being processed. Consent will be obtained through an affirmative action on the Platform.
You may withdraw consent through the mechanism made available by Zrya. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal and may affect your ability to use features or services that require the relevant Personal Data.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect the following information:
1.1 Information provided during registration
When you create an account, we may collect:
- First and last name: To create and identify your account and facilitate your use of the Platform
- Mobile number: Account creation, OTP verification and service-related communications
- Email address: Account management and service-related communications
- Date of birth and age: To determine eligibility to use the Platform and provide age-appropriate Platform functionality
- Gender: To support your profile and, where relevant, facilitate your interaction with Practitioners
- Country: To maintain your account information and provide relevant Platform functionality
You may also voluntarily provide information to complete your health profile:
- referral code;
- information regarding diagnosed conditions;
- family history;
- medications;
- stress levels;
- average sleep hours; and
- any other information you choose to provide in the relevant free-text field.
You are not required to provide optional information. However, certain information may be required for particular features or services.
1.2 Device and technical information
When you use the Platform, we may collect certain information relating to the device through which you access the Platform, including:
- device-related information;
- app logs and usage information;
- cookies and similar technologies used by the web/PWA version of the Platform; and
- information required to support push notifications and the functioning and security of the Platform.
The Platform may also request access to your camera and microphone when you use features that require them, including online counselling sessions. Such permissions are requested when the relevant functionality is used.
The Platform may request access to your location when you use the SOS/emergency feature. Location information is not intended to be collected continuously or in the background.
You may manage these permissions through your device settings. Restricting access to a particular permission may affect your ability to use the relevant feature.
The Platform does not record counselling sessions or provide an option to record sessions on the Platform.
1.3 Health and wellness information
If you choose to provide it, the Platform may collect information relating to your mental health and wellbeing, including information about diagnosed conditions, family history, medication, stress, sleep, mood and other information voluntarily provided by you. Such information may constitute Sensitive Personal Data or Personal Data under applicable law.
1.4 Journaling information & Mood and Sleep Tracker
Journaling is an optional feature of the Platform.
When you use the journaling feature, Zrya may retain information associated with your journal activity, such as the date and time of a journal entry and/or the word count associated with the entry.
Mood and sleep information may be collected when you use the relevant tracking features, for the purpose of enabling you to record and view your mood and sleep information and to provide the associated Platform functionality.
Zrya does not use this information for advertising, profiling or any other independent purpose.
1.5 Appointment and practitioner-related information
When you book a session with a Practitioner, we may collect information relating to the booking, including the Practitioner selected, appointment details and information voluntarily provided by you before the session. Once the Practitioner accepts your booking, the Practitioner may receive your name, age, session date and time, and information voluntarily provided by you before the session. Such information may include health or mental-health information.
1.6 Payment and subscription information
The Platform allows Users to make payments for services, including individual counselling sessions and subscriptions for access to premium features. Payments are processed through third-party payment service providers.
We do not store your card, UPI or bank account details for processing such payments. Depending on the transaction, we may retain limited transaction-related information such as your mobile number, transaction amount and UTR/reference number.
Where bank details are required from a User for processing a refund, such information may be collected for that specific purpose and handled in accordance with applicable law and our security practices.
2. How we use your information
We may use the information collected through the Platform for the following purposes:
- to create and manage your account;
- to provide and facilitate access to mental health services;
- to connect you with Practitioners;
- to facilitate and manage counselling sessions and appointments;
- to provide journaling, mood tracking, goal-setting and other features of the Platform;
- to provide access to premium features available through subscriptions;
- to process payments, subscriptions, refunds and related transactions;
- to process Practitioner payouts;
- to communicate with you regarding your account, appointments, subscriptions, transactions and use of the Platform;
- to provide customer support and respond to queries or complaints;
- to maintain, secure and improve the Platform;
- to analyse usage of the Platform and improve its features and services;
- to send service-related notifications;
- to send promotional communications where the required consent has been obtained;
- to detect, prevent and address fraud, misuse, security incidents and unauthorised access; and
- to comply with applicable laws, regulations and lawful governmental or judicial requirements.
We will not process your Personal Data for purposes unrelated to those described in this Privacy Policy unless such processing is permitted by applicable law or is otherwise disclosed to you and, where required, consent is obtained.
3. Information shared with Practitioners
Zrya facilitates the connection between Users and mental health practitioners registered on the Platform (“Practitioners”). Once a Practitioner accepts your booking, the Practitioner will receive the following information relating to the booking:
- your name;
- your age;
- the date and time of the scheduled session; and
- any information that you voluntarily provide to Zrya before the session for the purpose of informing the Practitioner about your requirements.
Once a Practitioner accepts your booking, we may share your name, age, session date and time, and information voluntarily provided by you before the session. This information is shared for the purpose of enabling the Practitioner to understand your requirements and provide the services you have booked.
We limit the information shared with the Practitioner to information relevant to facilitating the scheduled service. A Practitioner may, however, independently make notes relating to a session in accordance with their professional and contractual obligations.
Where a booking is cancelled after information has been shared with the Practitioner, the information already provided to the Practitioner may remain with the Practitioner for up to 7 working days.
4. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights in relation to your Personal Data, including the right to:
- access information about your Personal Data processed by us;
- correct and update personal data;
- request deletion of your Personal Data;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- raise a grievance regarding the processing of your Personal Data; and
- exercise any other rights available to you under applicable law.
You may exercise these rights through the relevant options available in the Platform, by using our account deletion request form, or by contacting us using the details provided below.
Where you withdraw consent, we will cease the relevant processing where required by applicable law. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide certain features or services that require the relevant information.
5. Journaling and mood information
Journaling is an optional feature and you may choose whether or not to use it. Information associated with your journaling activity, including the date and time of entries and/or word count, may be stored by Zrya to operate and maintain the feature. Your journal information is not otherwise used by Zrya for advertising, profiling or any independent purpose.
6. Children
The Platform is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly permit individuals below 18 years of age to register or use the Platform. Age is determined based on the information provided during registration.
If we become aware that an individual below 18 years of age has registered on the Platform, we may suspend or terminate the account and take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable law.
7. Practitioners information
7.1 Practitioner details
If you register or provide services as a Practitioner on the Platform, we may collect information including:
- name;
- email address and contact details;
- type of therapy/services offered;
- RCI registration number, where applicable;
- licence or registration details and supporting documents;
- degrees, qualifications and certifications;
- professional experience;
- session pricing; and
- bank account or other payment-related information required to process Practitioner payments.
7.2 Use of Practitioner information
Practitioner information may be used to:
- create and manage the Practitioner's account;
- verify the Practitioner's identity, qualifications and eligibility to provide services through the Platform;
- create and maintain the Practitioner's profile;
- facilitate bookings and appointments;
- process payments and payouts;
- communicate with the Practitioner regarding the Platform and their services;
- maintain records relating to the Practitioner's engagement with Zrya;
- maintain the security and integrity of the Platform; and
- comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Information forming part of the Practitioner's public profile, such as their name, type of therapy, relevant qualifications, experience and session pricing, may be displayed to Users for the purpose of enabling Users to select and book a Practitioner.
Practitioner's bank account details may be shared with payment gateways to facilitate payment.
We do not publicly display Practitioners' bank details, contact information used for account administration, or underlying qualification/licence documents.
7.3 Updating Practitioner information
Practitioners may request correction or updating of their Personal Data by writing to info@zryamentalhealth.com.
Information relating to professional qualifications, registrations, licences, certifications and other credentials may not be directly editable by the Practitioner and may require verification and approval by Zrya before being updated. Zrya may retain historical or verification records where required for legal, regulatory, contractual or legitimate business purposes.
Information relating to session pricing, areas of practice, services offered and other profile information may be updated by the Practitioner, subject to the terms of their engagement with Zrya and any applicable verification or approval requirements.
8. Third-party service providers
We may use third-party service providers to support the operation and delivery of the Platform. These service providers may process information on our behalf and only for the purposes for which they are engaged. Our service providers may include:

We may share only such information as is reasonably necessary for the relevant service. We require our service providers to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security measures in relation to Personal Data processed on our behalf.
9. Cookies
The web/PWA version of the Platform may use cookies and similar technologies primarily to cache information and support the functioning of the Platform. The Platform does not use cookies for behavioural advertising or cross-app tracking.
You may manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Certain Platform functionality may be affected if necessary cookies are disabled.
10. Communications and marketing
We may send you communications relating to your account, appointments, transactions, security and the functioning of the Platform.
We may also send promotional or marketing communications where the necessary consent has been obtained.
You may manage your preferences for non-essential promotional communications through the options made available by Zrya. Withdrawal of consent for marketing communications will not affect your receipt of essential service-related communications.
11. Disclosure of information
We may disclose your Personal Data:
- to Practitioners, as described in this Privacy Policy;
- to service providers engaged by us to operate and provide the Platform;
- where necessary to process payments, refunds or Practitioner payouts;
- where required by law, regulation, court order or a lawful request from a governmental authority;
- to protect the rights, safety and security of Zrya, its Users or other persons; or
- where otherwise permitted by applicable law or with your consent.
12. Retention of Personal Data
We retain Personal Data relating to Users and Practitioners for as long as their respective account or engagement with Zrya remains active or for as long as the information is required for the purposes for which it was collected.
Where a User or Practitioner deletes their account, we will delete their Personal Data within 7 (seven) days, subject to any information that we are required or permitted to retain under applicable law.
Information retained for legal, regulatory, security, dispute-resolution, accounting or other legitimate purposes will be retained only for the period required for that purpose and will thereafter be deleted or anonymised, as applicable.
Deletion of your account does not automatically delete information that has already been independently retained by a Practitioner in accordance with the Practitioner’s professional or legal obligations.
13. Security of your information
We implement reasonable technical, organisational and security measures appropriate to the nature of the Personal Data processed through the Platform. These measures include access controls, role-based access restrictions, appropriate authentication and controls designed to prevent unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration or destruction of Personal Data.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no electronic system or method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Data breaches
In the event of a Personal Data breach, Zrya will take reasonable steps to contain, assess and remediate the breach and will provide notifications to affected individuals and the relevant authorities or regulatory bodies where required under applicable law.

You may also raise a privacy-related request through the relevant mechanism available in the Platform or the account deletion request form. We will address grievances and requests in accordance with applicable law.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Platform or applicable law.
In case of any changes, we will provide notice through an in-app notification or push notification, 7 (seven) days prior to implementing the changes. In case the changes are not acceptable, you may delete/withdraw the account from the Platform.
The updated version of this Privacy Policy will be made available through the Platform and the date of the latest update will be indicated at the beginning of this Policy.
17. Governing law
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India and the courts at New Delhi, India shall have jurisdiction in relation to all matters arising from the use of this Platform.
